1965 IDEAL Real Live Lucy Baby Doll 20" Tall w/Two Outfits Platinum

I’m offering today an adorable and large vinyl baby doll by Ideal Doll, circa 1965 known as "Real Live Lucy".  She is hallmarked on the back of her neck "Ideal Toy Corp., FL20-E-H33".   (Sorry, my camera did not take a very good photo of the back of her neck.  I couldn't get it focused). Her head, arms, and legs are jointed, allowing you many ways to pose her.  This sweet baby doll has the biggest green open and close sleep eyes ever!  Her head bobbles back and forth as you move her around.  She is so cute and will come with two vintage outfits for her to change out every now and then.
I will start at the top of her head and work my way down so as not to omit anything in my description.  Starting at the top of her head, she has platinum blonde, straight hair with bangs.  The short baby cut frames her sweet angelic face perfectly.  She is wearing a custom designed hair bow which I made to match her vintage pastel pink dress.  I took pale pink satin ribbon made large bow.  I hand sewed the large satin bow to the top of the elastic, which by doing so, allows the bow to sit up high on her head.  This is very time consuming, but I think it is well worth the time and effort on these rare 60's baby dolls.  As you go down to her face, she has single brown line for eyebrows.  She has beautiful green open and close sleep eyes.  She has her original eyelashes which have been spared from her previous little mommies scissors. Sometimes, previous little mommies like to cut the eyelashes and hair on their dolls, but this one was not touched.   Her eyes open and close freely when you lay her down or pick her up.  She has a dainty petite nose with open nostrils for realism which flows down to her precious open mouth.  Her rosebud shape lips are painted a pale pink with two baby teeth peeking out.  Her chubby baby cheeks have beautiful coloring which really enhance those beautiful green eyes she has.  As the years go by, these dolls become more and more scarce to find.  I know it's hard to believe this doll is from 1965, almost 60 years old.  She truly is a gorgeous doll and hard to come by in this condition.
With this precious face, large green eyes and platinum blonde hair, she needed to be in something vintage from the period of the doll.  A lot of times, I do not feel that way, but when I found this pale pink vintage doll dress, I felt it was meant to be for "Lucy".  With her pastel pink lips and her two baby teeth peeking through, I knew it was perfect.  The dress is pleated on the upper portion of the bodice.  There is delicate white lace around the collar which goes around to the back of the dress.  There are five petite mother of pearl white buttons on the back, which keeps the dress in place.  Going back to the front of the dress, the sleeves are short and are also trimmed with delicate white lace.  There is an embroidered flower off to one side of the bodice in shades of pale pink with green foliage.  The skirt on the dress is very simple in design and flows down to just past her knees.  Under her dress, she is wearing a white cotton drop waist slip which is trimmed with white lace.  Under her slip, she is wearing pastel pink cotton panties.  She has white socks on with white Mary Jane shoes which are topped off with pink satin rosettes.  Now to her other outfit.  I picked out this adorable pale yellow dress which is made of knit.  It has a "waffle design" with raised texturing.  The oval yoke collar comes up high around her neck, or you can loosen the yarn in the back and allow it to come down further if you so desire.  The sleeves come down to about her elbow area and can be tied with the yarn pulls to fit her arms just perfect.  In the front of the dress, there are two pockets with delicate embroidered baby chicks wearing pale yellow lace for a dress.  Surrounding the little chicks, there are tiny embroidered flowers which frame the pockets.  There are pale yellow pants to match the dress for her to wear.  Her shoes and socks will go perfect with this second outfit.  She is ready to be displayed, loved and enjoyed for many years to come.  Just as she has for me.
My dolls are not played with by children who come and visit; I know that sounds mean, but sometimes they play too rough.  My dolls are kept in a doll room specifically for them and are displayed for everyone to enjoy.  All my dolls are truly loved and cared for as though they were my children.  Their clothes are either original to the doll, made by me, or I've tried finding doll clothing from the same era as the doll or find clothing which match the personality of the doll.  We do not smoke and I try very hard to keep a tidy clean home free of dust and odor.  My dolls are clean and most of the time look as though they did when they were sold new.  Depending on how old they are, I do try to be honest in detailing if some of the dolls have bruises, missing toes or fingers or other issues, but that doesn't mean they aren't worth having; for each one is like children.....they are all beautiful in their mothers eyes.  If I've missed something it would never be intentional.

This vintage Lucy baby doll is a larger doll measuring approximately 20" tall.
CONDITION:
This doll is vintage, but in what I would consider good condition.  Her body has been cleaned and sanitized.  Her hair has been washed and sanitized.  Her eyes open/close freely and she has her original eyelashes.  She is jointed and poses quite nicely.  She has all her fingers and toes.  Her sweet little head bobbles from side to side as she is moved around.  Her adorable two outfits are vintage.  One is from the same era as the doll.  They have been laundered and ironed prior to my listing her.  Her Mary Jane shoes are vintage, but have never been worn by another doll.  They come from my personal doll shoe collection.  The photos really tell the story about this doll.  She is a beautiful doll and one of a kind.  Please view complete set of photos for thorough description.  I hope you can take a few minutes to look at my other dolls.  God bless you.  Connie
